Let the fun and creativity begin! Marty will help you with the initial set up of your domestic machine and then guide you as you explore the Sampler Templates from Westalee Designs. Each month we will use one or more of the templates to quilt a sampler block. Then use the blocks to make pillows, totes, lap throws, or a quilt.
August 24th class – orientation to template/ruler work, set up of machine. Using the 12”arc template to make 4 quilt squares. The Red one in the picture.
October 1st class - using the circle and clamshell template - green in picture
October 29th class - using the spiral and 12" arc template - purple in picture
November 26th class - using the Spin-e-flex templates - blue in picture
Required materials:
domestic machine in working order with owner’s manual;
Westalee sampler templates;
Westalee foot for machine;
Westalee 12" arc template;
Westalee spacing guage;
Janet Collins book;
extension table for machine;
Fabric: 2 yd solid or tone on tone fabric in a light color - white or cream is easiest
Low loft batting such as warm and natural;
Contrasting thread for quilting - 30 or 40 wt;
Bobbin thread such as Aurifil or Bottom Line to match top thread;
