Jackie Padesky is a central Illinois native; she’s a full-time working wife and momma,
and she considers her super-power to be her ability to produce large quantities of quilts
between the hours of 9pm and midnight! ;)
But seriously, Jackie started quilting in 2007 after taking a
quilting 101 class at Cotton Stitches in Pekin. From there, she discovered the online world of
blogs and eventually social media like Facebook and Instagram. Instagram has become her
best resource to the modern quilting world, and there she interacts with thousands of
people through friendship and creativity.
In 2012 she purchased a Handiquilter Avante long arm quilting machine, and is proud to
personally finish all of her quilts from start to finish (though binding is NOT her favorite part!
Haha!)! In her few short years of quilting she’s completed over 100 quilts, and even designed
a few along the way. Most notably, her Pineapple Quilt, which has taken the online
quilting world by storm.
Jackie was even so fortunate to have recently been a guest on Pat Sloan’s American
Patchwork and Quilting Podcast to discuss the Pineapple Quilt and how Instagram
has positively impacted her quilting experience!
You can find Jackie on Instagram at @jackieapadeskyquilts…there you’ll
see lots of pictures of her work, her love of Bonnie & Camille fabrics, and the next project
she’s happily working on!
