Details: | We wanted to share with you the line-up of classes we have scheduled for School House. This is what we have planned for you: Hallie Clougherty Bertie's Year (Framing and Handwork) Mini quilts of the month featuring our favorite pin-up gal Bertie! Blogs and Modern - Modern quilts have many definitions depending on who you ask. We will give you a little history and some basic characteristics to identify modern quilts. In addition, you will receive a list of blogs you can explore featuring modern quilts. Jackie O'Laughlin Quick Curve Ruler - A demonstration will be given on how to use the Quick Curve Ruler and sewing method. Patterns available will be reviewed. Bargello -A variety of Bargello techniques will be shown in a mini trunk show. The bargello construction and sewing methods will be reviewed so you can make your own Bargello Heart with the free pattern included in this workshop. Julia Werner Organize Your Stash - Got stash? Need motivation to get it organized? Come to this session to see practical methods of fabric organization and get ideas for storing all your fabric. Patty Gallmeyer Marty Michell - Come to the Marti Michell presentation and see a demo on making star washings with four different star points. Also see quilts made with templates and hear about new classes that are available. Isabelle Donnelly Side Kick ruler - See how easy it is to make diamonds and triangles with this ruler by Jaybird. This ruler makes a very unique block setting. Pillow Case - Make your own pillowcases to match that quilt or for a quick gift in a few minutes. Isabelle Donnelly will show you how easy it is. Migrating Geese - from Deb Tucker at Studio 180 Designs With this technique Sheet you can make these geese appear to be floating around your quilt. Robyn Welch New toys - Come see what's new (and not so new) and what you can't live without to help you use your time more wisely! Honeycomb ruler - The Bee's Knees are two quilts that use the Honeycomb Ruler. User layer cake and honeycomb precuts for a quick project. Kathi Lehman Software Intro - This is an overview of Viking's 6D software and all it's modules. Come learn how embroidery software can compliment your embroidery machine and make your projects easier, more fun and personal. Software Troubleshooting - This class is for owners of any of Viking's software. If you are experiencing any problems or are not sure how to do something that you would like to do with your software - let Kathi help you find the solution. Georjean shows you how easy it is to do with the Quilt in a Day, Scallops, Vines & Waves Template. Make any size quilt look spectacular! Martha Dakin A Lesson on the Lone Star - We will take a first look at creating a Lone Star Quilt. We’ll look at color and layout options, seam matching, whether to Y-seam or not, and how to make the center lie FLAT. Marty Tarter Blackboard Memo Board -Learn a new and innovative way to use your Spanish Hemstitch foot as well as some of those beautiful large embroidery designs to spruce up your refrigerator memo area for fall. Jan Mishler Paper Piecing -Paper piecing Is a great way to make points come out right, and not be cut off when finishing the block or quilt top. It can be used to do difficult blocks easily. Give it a try before you give up! Binding - When you finish the last seam of the binding, a bias seam will work to reduce the bulk of the seam and look the best.
