Teacher Of The Week this week is:

Jackie O'Laughlin

Jackie is one of our fabulous teachers and it obviously comes to her naturally!  Jackie has taught Fundamentals in Elementary PE for 35 years and Learn to Quilt fundamentals for 17 years. She just loves to teach and any one taking any of her classes whether it is a beginning class or specialty class (like the Twisted Bargello) will learn invaluable techniques that will be used over and over again! Jackie has always been 'crafty', she has hand embroidered since she was 5 years old and sewn since she was seven.  Her grandmother was a quilter but Jackie seriously started quilting in 1996.  She enjoys all aspects of quilting but especially the piecing and watching how all the pieces come together.  Jackie especially loves Bargello quilts (she says they're not as difficult as they look! Take her class and find out for yourself!) Jackie uses her Viking Sapphire 875, Designer Diamond and Platinum 3000 for all her sewing and quilting needs (Jackie is also our new owner's teacher for anyone purchasing the Viking Platinum 3000, long arm quilter).  Jackie's favorite notion is the Clover Extra Fine Glass Head Pins, perfect for pinning all those seams like in the Bargello quilt.  Jackie's favorite color combination is black and turquoise.  Jackie says, " If there is a quilting notion that makes your job easier, it is definitely worth getting!".
