Our "Teacher Feature" this week is Marty Tarter
Marty has been sewing since she was 8 years old and quilting for about 10 years. She has made lots of lap quilts & wall hangings but has never made a bed quilt! Marty loves heirloom sewing using batiste, linens and laces. She made her daughters' wedding dresses using machine embroidery and her Viking Designer 1 embroidery machine. Marty now uses her Designer Diamond Royale for her sewing and embroidery needs. Her Diamond Royale shares space with a Platinum 16 Sit Down Quilter, Viking 435 and 936 serger.
Marty's quilting journey started when she made paraments for her church. Marty uses her love of creativity and designing in quilting and embroidery, as well as her vast knowledge and sewing expertise in her Designer Groupies and Footin' Along classes - along with an occasional heirloom or specialty technique class (Look for the upcoming Foot Box Cover class). Students always have a great time in class and come away from each class with something new learned. Click on the classes above to see some of the beautiful class samples, supply lists and to learn more about her monthly classes. She has many of her samples on display at the shop also.
One of Marty's favorite notions is the fabric folding pen and her favorite color combo is patriotic - anything red, white and blue! Marty says, "I'm just like every other quilter: Too much fabric, threads all over, more projects than I can count . . . Oh, and need I mention . . . Happy as can be!"
